Roman Trend – Lambo Nights
A song inspired by Cynthia Mwakio’s novella “Second Heart.”
Amanda at the counter, ambition in her eyes,
Measured steps through daylight, beneath the Lambo skies.
Then Mwashi, hands of timber, the scent of cedar air,
On his motorbike he finds her, and wonder lingers there.
Conversations deepening in the hush of night,
City lights unfolding, futures burning bright.
Beyond the modern highways, the desert stretches far,
And Luzori Hills keep vigil, like witnesses to who we are.
Second hearts are learning how to beat,
Balancing between desire and defeat.
In Lambo nights, the longing starts,
A tender game of restless, seeking hearts.
A stranger’s dance unsettles, jealousy takes flame,
A fight beneath the music, nothing feels the same.
Machines in sterile silence, the hours bend and break,
Amanda keeps her vigil for love she cannot fake.
Mark stands in the doorway, wealth upon his name,
Yet shadows follow closely, cloaked in charm and shame.
Beyond the shining city, the plains lie still and wide,
And Luzori Hills look on, where secrets cannot hide.
New, uncertain hearts are trying to believe,
That love can offer more than it deceives.
In a city maze of fragile arts,
We stumble with our trembling human hearts.
The mountains never falter, the desert never sleeps,
They echo human longing, the promises we keep.
Who will heal the fractures, who will bear the scars?
Who will guide these second hearts beneath the watching stars?
Second hearts still learning how to trust,
In a world where love and labor turn to dust.
In Lambo nights, beneath the stars,
They’re dancing with their restless, fragile hearts.
